Board Certified Veterinary Dentist
Dr. Patricia Frost-Fitch is our dental doctor. She tackles our most challenging dental procedures, like root canals, crowns, oral surgery, and repairing broken jaws. She accepts referrals from local veterinary hospitals and cares for the Portland , Salem , and Washington County Police Department K-9 unit. She truly loves veterinary dentistry and the knowledge that paying attention to what is going on in the mouth can be hugely beneficial to a pets overall health and well-being. Dr. Frost schedules dental consultations and procedures on Wednesdays.
The first step for a referral begins with your regular veterinarian identifying a dental problem. They'll recommend you give us a call and request a dental consultation with Dr. Frost.
Call our regular phone line at 503.285.0462 to schedule a consultation.
Dr. Frost sees appointments and performs dental procedures on Wednesdays. Once you've met with Dr. Frost and discussed the treatment plan, we'll begin work. You're pet will stay with us for the day, and be ready to go home between 5pm - 7pm.
We take several steps to ensure your pet is safe while under anesthesia. We run a blood test to ensure your pet's kidney and liver are healthy and can handle the anesthesia. We'll connect an IV catheter and administer fluids to keep your pet's blood pressure normal and help with a quick wake-up recovery. We also connect special monitoring equipment to ensure your pet is safe. We take special steps to ensure you pet's procedure is pain-free. We minimize pain by using systemic analgesic medications and local and regional nerve blocks.
When you come to retrieve your pet, Dr. Frost will meet with you and discuss how things went. She'll show you x-rays or pictures, and explain any home care instructions you need to follow.
