Debra Barnes, DVM
Dr. Barnes, a native Oregonian, did her pre-veterinary work at Oregon State and then went to Kansas State to receive her veterinary degree in 1980. After graduation, she returned to Oregon and has been practicing in the metro area ever since. She joined our practice in 1991. She was a member of the Dove Lewis Board of Directors from 1996 – 2003. In her free time, she and her husband Doug enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, traveling and playing with their cat Sedona named after their favorite travel city. Dr. Barnes sees appointments three days a week and performs dental and surgical procedures one day a week. She really enjoys seeing cats. She also sees dogs as well.
Our veterinarians have graduated from different universities across the United States. We believe this diversity creates a wonderful blend of thoughts, ideas, styles, and best ways of approaching the challenges of veterinary medicine. Our doctors meet on a regular basis to talk about cases and evaluate the latest developments and medical breakthroughs. They also attend continuing education seminars and workshops each year to stay current.
All of our doctors are fabulous. You may already have some favorites. Just let us know if you have a specific doctor preference and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.
