Lynn Shanks, DVM

Dr. Shanks received her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 1992. She completed an internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey in 1993. She practiced in New Jersey before moving to Portland in 1994. She has been with us since 1997. She is an avid swimmer and enjoys participating in triathlons. She also enjoys camping, hiking, snowshoeing and gardening. She lives with her partner Pat and son Tom along with dogs Polly and Darwin and cats Fiona, Isabella and High Ho Silver.  Dr. Shanks really enjoys surgery, orthopedics, and reproductive medicine. She sees appointments three days a week and performs dental and surgical procedures two days a week.

Our veterinarians have graduated from different universities across the United States.  We believe this diversity creates a wonderful blend of thoughts, ideas, styles, and best ways of approaching the challenges of veterinary medicine. Our doctors meet on a regular basis to talk about cases and evaluate the latest developments and medical breakthroughs. They also attend continuing education seminars and workshops each year to stay current.
